So today’s the day, our first proper cruise on Merlin. Even though we had a boat 7 years ago both of us were feeling a bit nervous. So, toilet emptied, water and fuel filled and off we set. A short day today just to get us started. We cruised through the lovely Staffordshire countryside to Armitage, our first stop. No disasters and only a few cross words which is good for John and I and for anyone who knows us our first overnight stop was at the Plum Pudding pub. We had a late lunch at the pub then a relaxing afternoon on the towpath. Eren and Georgie loved being out on the stern with us and loved meeting new people at the pub, especially Georgie. A successful first day.
