We said a sad farewell to Lisa and Dougie this morning and started our journey to the New Forest. The plan was to visit John's Mums grave with some fresh flowers, do a bit of shopping to stock up and then head to Romsey to the Meadow Brock Farm camp site.
The Satnav said that the journey was only a couple of hours but there was an accident on the A34 so the journey was very slow and took us around 5 hours in the end.
We arrived at Blackfield at about 3pm and went straight to the cemetery and then we headed to the camp site.
The journey to Romsey was pretty easy and we were at the camp site for about 5.30pm. It is a very basic campsite for just motorhomes. No facilities or frills but that is what we expected from the write up. It had everything we needed at a very reasonable price.
The owner met us when we arrived and we pitched the tent up facing the meadow in the hope that we might catch a glimpse at the peacocks and deer which sometimes come into the meadow. Certainly not a luxury campsite but a very peaceful and relaxing one. There is a lovely big meadow for the dogs to run in which is a bonus.
We ate outside as the weather was lovely and spent a very relaxing evening.
