So today we started our second trip on Merlin, travelling to Napton on the HIll to visit Calcutt Boats to get our engine rebuilt before setting off for the Oxford Canal.  We have all our fingers and toes crossed that the boat will be ok to get us to Napton without any major problems.  We plan to check the oil and water every day and just do short days to try to protect the engine as much as possible.

So todays journey was from Kings Bromley to Fradley junction.  One hours cruising and two locks, a nice gentle start.  We set off at 8am, nice and early so that we could get to Fradley in time to get a mooring.  We went through the three locks with no issues so we decided to push on a bit further to get to Huddlesford.

We stopped for diesel at Streethay Wharf and all was going well.  Arrived at Huddlesford at around half eleven without any issues.  So day one was a success.

We had a relaxing afternoon then walked to the Plough Inn for a drink before tea and then back on the boat for supper.  The weather was lovely, warm and sunny.  We have found a lovely mooring close to other boaters.

Eren and Georgie have just settled back into cruising and love exploring new areas, the boat is their constant so they are pretty relaxed.
