Started the day with a lovely walk in the park for the dogs and Georgie was able to run off the lead in the tennis courts.  It was lovely to see her running around with her stick.  We tried some recall training but that failed miserably.  After breakfast we had another early start on the cut, a short trip to Atherstone today.  Six locks and a couple of hours cruising.  The weather was fantastic once again.  Good to top up my tan as this time last year I was lovely and brown from the Cyprus sun.

We met some lovely people on the locks as usual and the morning passed very quickly.  We had some luck as there were a few boats coming down the locks so the gates were left open for us.

Found a lovely mooring spot at Atherstone and after doing some chores we headed into town to get some provisions and then a  drink in the beer garden of the Kings Head.

I was really pleased that we were able to use the washing machine and hoover without having to run the boat, the new inverter is making a difference.  We still can't heat the water so it was a cold shower for both of us today.  However have spotted a boat in front of us which is advertising that they are specialists in immersion heaters so I am hoping to catch hold of the man before we leave to pick his brains.

We met a lovely couple in the beer garden and spent a lovely afternoon chatting before heading back to the boat to have supper.
