Another early start and another lovely sunny day.  We hoped to get through the lock before the traffic came as Hawkesbury Junction is a very busy junction.  However we had to get water, empty the rubbish and elsan so by the time we were ready to set off a couple of boats had come down the canal and we were third in line for the stop lock.

We eventually got to the stop lock and headed onto the Oxford Canal on our way to Brinklow.  A couple of nice videos below of Merlin coming around the bridge into the Hawkesbury Basin before heading into the lock.  As we were going through the lock the rain started by thankfully it did not last too long and the sun came out again.

A very pleasant cruise to Brinklow, there were some lovely long straight stretches where we went under the railway line and then the M6.  Trains and cars rushing along at a fast pace whilst we sailed at 3 miles an hour below.

We stopped at Rose Narrowboats to get some fuel and gas, another familiar stop for us as we stayed there when we had our old boat Maya.

After Rose Narrow Boats it was a short cruise to Brinklow visitor moorings, nice moorings but pretty isolated from shops etc.

The weather was beautiful so we sat outside the boat for a couple of hours playing scrabble (very civilised) but then the promised thunder and rain came so we had to rush back into the boat.  Video of how heavy it was raining is below.

As I am travelling to London on Sunday we will get to Rugby too early so we decided that we will book into Brinklow Marina tomorrow and do some chores on the boat until Tuesday when I return.
